V85 Stays On
Good news to fellow license holders' calls sign V85. Members' letter of appeal, supported and forwarded by BDARA, has finally been approved by AITI through their letter AITI/6/2 dated 7th. April 2009 to be exempted from changing to the new call sign.
BDARA has voiced its strong standing and support fully to keep V85, a popular and well-known call sign among radio operators worldwide. A legendary call sign privilege to a few members.
Congratulation to our President - Pg.Salleh Ab.Rahaman, V8BDS who has been granted the legendary callsign V85DX. We hope one day to see all Bruneian callsign will be V85 instead of the new V88 which has received a lot of unfavourable comments. The two digits alphabet hopefully will stay put instead of the present three digits to avoid confusion during dxing.
